The activities tab appears under file and contact tabs, as well as on My portal. It can be used to list the journals and fixed charges recorded on a specific contact or file, or on a given date.

As a time management tool (the version on the portal), the activities tab can be used to review daily time recording, fill in missing details and determine the proportion of billable vs. non-billable time.
 
As a billing tool (the file version), it can be used to analyse work-in-progress, add/remove items from the quoted price, write-down unreasonable charges or add missing entries prior to rendering a bill.
 
If the display includes several members' times for the same journal entry, the items will be grouped. Grouping will also occur for any activities relating to the same type of item (i.e. document, transaction, etc). This is reflective of the aggregation that will occur when printing the bill.
 
The following filters are available:
  • Billed/unbilled - Filter based on whether the time/charges have been billed (at any point).
  • Billable/unbillable - Filter based on whether the time/charges are recorded on a file or not.
  • Activities/fixed charges - Limit the display to journals or fixed charges only.
  • Member - View a particular member's records, or show all time/charges.
  • Period - Limit to a single day, or a date range.
  • Item type - View activities relating to a particular type of item (document, transaction, etc) only.
  • Workgroup - View time/charges recorded on files in a particular department or workgroup.
  • Search in description - Find entries matching a particular term.
