ContactsLaw has an integrated
announcement system, which can be viewed from the
Today tab on
My portal. It reports the following types of announcements:
- User-definable announcements posted by members with authoring permissions
- Birthdays (automatically generated using contact information)
- Public holidays (automatically generated from holiday information)
On startup, if there are announcements pertainent to the current period (the breadth of this period is determined from
the practice), ContactsLaw will display the Today tab instead of the Tasks tab.
User-definable announcements
Members with appropriate permissions can post (and edit) announcements. These announcements have the following properties:
- Date/time - Announcements can be forward-dated
- Author
- Title - This appears in prominent type above the announcement
- Body - The content of the announcement
- Sticky toggle - This option is used to prevent the announcement from expiring at the end of the period. The announcement will continue to be displayed above all others until deleted or reset to normal.
In the announcements panel, it is possible to cycle through previous announcements, or look forward to future announcements. The panel can be collapsed in order to reclaim vertical space for the live content on the Today page (e.g. release notes).
