In ContactsLaw, a composite field is the term given to when a placeholder in a document template is mapped onto two or more of the available fields in the list.

By default, the results from each field are joined together using tabs. You can apply formatting rules separately to each component of the mapping, or to the field as a whole.

Composite fields can be used to build tables in some types of documents (depending on the format and supported features).
