In ContactsLaw, a compound bill is a special type of bill composed of several existing bills. These bills may span multiple files. A compound bill has a single cover page and amount payable, and a separate itemisation for each of the existing bills.

Compound bills are typically used for clients with large numbers of active files where a regular billing cycle occurs. You can bill the individual files at any time during the period, then generate a compound bill at the end of the period.

The cover page of a compound bill must always be a document, and therefore you must create a suitable template in order to use this feature.

A compound bill may override the date and period of the individual bills it is comprised of.

You can post a compound bill from the Debtors view of the Ledgers tab on the contact tab for the client.
