Below are some additional notes regarding deploying the ContactsLaw Daemon in a server environment:

PDF conversion

ContactsLaw normally leverages Microsoft Office's built-in PDF conversion features. These are unavailable in a server environment and therefore an alternative is required in order to enable conversion. LibreOffice is an open-source software package that can be used for this purpose, and a suitable plug-in is provided for use with ContactsLaw. This plug-in only needs to be installed on the daemon and is not required for any other users.

Due to differences in their interpretation of the Office document specifications, you may get slightly different output from the LibreOffice PDF conversion than expected. In such cases, it is necessary to modify the document/template.

E-mail production and sending

Due to the unavailability of Microsoft Outlook in a server environment, e-mail templates in .OFT format cannot be used in scheduled tasks or with the REST API. Instead, you must use the HTML e-mail format provided by the Default plug-in. If not configured, you can use the "Configure HTML e-mail" job type to set the SMTP settings for sending the resulting messages.
