ContactsLaw uses Microsoft SharePoint, an enterprise-level content management system (CMS), to provide its document management features. As ContactsLaw is a desktop application, it must interface with SharePoint's web interface through an intermediary. This is achieved using a custom solution which is installed on the document server.

The ContactsLaw WCF Integration Service exposes the document management functionality in SharePoint to ContactsLaw. ContactsLaw performs all document-related actions (with the exception of opening/downloading the documents themselves) via this web service.

Installation

The solution must be installed on the document server, using either the installer or by manually adding the .wsp file to the SharePoint installation. Once installed, the service will become available to all SharePoint sites hosted on that machine.

By default, ContactsLaw accesses the web service from the following location: http://SERVERNAME/_vti_bin/ContactsLaw.svc
