The end of financial year journal (or 'roll-over journal', transaction number prefix EJ) is a many-to-many transaction which allows you to transition from one financial year to the next.

 

 

The activity provides an automatic facility to transfer the entire balance from each of your income and expense accounts into an equity account, such as retained earnings. This can also be achieved by dragging each balance figure onto the destination account, whose balance will steadily increase.

 

When the journal is balanced, it can be finalised.
