MemberIn ContactsLaw, a member is a contact that can log in to the system. Most members are individuals.

Members have the following special attributes:

Profile fields

The Practice may define additional fields to hold profile information about members. Like workgroup fields, these fields can be used in document production.

Authentication

ContactsLaw supports two methods of authentication; login via your Windows user account or login via username and password. If your member profile is associated with a user on the network, ContactsLaw will automatically log you in when you start the application. If you are logged in as a different user, or if your account is not recognised, then ContactsLaw will prompt you for a username and password. Only add a password to your profile if you cannot log in using a domain account.

Service accounts

A service account is a member created using an entity contact. Service accounts are used to perform autonomous processes (such as scheduled tasks) and cannot be used to log on interactively.

Any tasks delegated to a service account will be redirected to anyone authorised (unless a delegate member is nominated).
