In ContactsLaw, it is possible to control the authorisation of financial transactions according to their value. By defining transaction authority levels, some members can be given authority to process transactions for large sums of money, while other members may be limited to a lesser amount. All types of payments and write-offs are subject to these authority levels.

Each type of transaction must define 5 threshold values, which form the authority levels.

Members will be able to start workflows that end in an 'Authorise' step as long as they have permission to the step. Transaction authority levels are checked prior to completion, and will prevent tasks from being completed if the member does not have permission to authorise the amount of the transaction. Should this occur, the task can be delegated to a member with greater permissions, or left undelegated to be authorised according to normal business processes.
