In the same manner that a direct debit template represents a pro-forma general payment, a cost estimate template is a mechanism in ContactsLaw for defining a pro-forma cost estimate.
 
It is a selection of products and disbursements, including the quantity/charge for each, as well as an indication of which is the default product (to which time and charges are allocated in the absence of a specific choice). For each product, you can provide a more verbose description.
 
Cost estimate templates can be applied to files during creation, or at any subsequent point via the billing options screen.
